Fascinated by military vehicles and equipment? Ever dreamed of becoming a detective? Then this investigation among the Museum’s military exhibits is just for you! You will receive special mission sheets containing descriptions of tanks, aircraft, artillery and missile systems. But there is a catch: the descriptions contain deliberate errors, cleverly planted by a mysterious saboteur.

Spot and correct all the mistakes to earn your reward: the chance to take a seat at the controls of a Li-2 aircraft and experience what it feels like to be a real pilot!

  • Clay Creations

Do you know the stories behind the symbols of Ukrainian statehood? Join us to explore their history and discover how they became part of the symbolic heritage of Ukraine’s armed forces. Visit the exhibition Sign on the Shield and uncover the fascinating stories behind Ukrainian national and military symbols. You will also have the opportunity to create your own artwork using modelling clay, inspired by the Museum’s exhibits!

  • Museum Bingo

Ever wanted to try your hand at bingo? Now you can play a special museum version featuring artefacts from the Second World War! Explore the galleries, find objects that match unusual descriptions or have distinctive features, and tick them off your bingo card. Everyone will end up with a unique combination, since there are many possible correct answers. Will your discoveries match those of the other players?

  • The Art of Vytynanka

Discover how the Motherland Monument was created, explore the secrets behind one of Ukraine’s most recognisable landmarks, and learn about the traditional Ukrainian art of vytynanka, or decorative paper cutting. Each participant will create their own paper-cut design, which can become a personal good-luck charm. Explore history, experiment with patterns and make a unique souvenir to take home!

  • Statehood Workshop: The Fifth Universal. Documents

How did Ukraine fight for its independence more than a century ago? In this workshop, you will explore the history of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1917–1918, discover the Universals issued by the Ukrainian Central Rada, and learn about their significance in the development of Ukrainian statehood. To round off the experience, you will have the chance to become a history-maker yourself by drafting your own Universal, following a historical example.
