On March 28, 2025, at 14:00, a presentation of the monograph by the researcher of the folklore of the peoples of Crimea, Larysa Humanenko, "Golden Cradle. Fairytale Tradition of Crimea" (2024), will be held in the Main Building of the War Museum.
During the event, we will discuss the difficult fate of the Crimean Tatars and consider their rich cultural, particularly folklore, heritage.
The speakers will cover the following topics:
- how Crimean Tatar folk tales were collected and researched;
- the importance of translating Crimean Tatar folklore into Ukrainian;
- the local colour of Crimean Tatar fairy tales;
- the main plots, motifs, and images in Crimean Tatar fairy tales;
- commonalities and differences between Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian fairy tales.

🔹 Larysa Humanenko – PhD in Philology, lecturer at the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature, Foreign Literature of the Polytechnic Lyceum of NTUU "KPI" in Kyiv, author of the monograph "Golden Cradle. Fairytale Tradition of Crimea: Folklore Exploration", compiler of collections of Crimean Tatar folk tales;
🔹 Olesia Naumovska – PhD in Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of Folklore Studies of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, researcher of Ukrainian folk tales.
