On 18 May, a ceremonial postmarking of the "Let’s Fill It Together" artistic stamp block took place at the War Museum. The block was created in support of the fundraising campaign for the renovation and development of the institution.
The event, organized jointly with Ukrposhta, brought together the Museum’s benefactors, collectors, media, and the museum team around a common goal – creating a new, modern museum space.
Opening the ceremony, Yurii Savchuk, the Director General of the Museum, recalled that the impetus for launching the fundraiser was the solidarity and readiness to help expressed by many business representatives after 100 m² of windows in the Hall of Glory were destroyed by a blast wave from a russian strike. This occurred on February 3, and just ten days later, the Museum announced a fundraising campaign to support the project of creating new innovative exhibitions – the "Museum of Modern War Technologies" and the "Museum of russian (Soviet) Propaganda." Since then, step by step, we have been moving toward this goal, backed by the support of partners and friends.
Ukrposhta provides unwavering support to the museum staff. Nataliia Mukhina, Head of the Philatelic Products Department at Ukrposhta, emphasized that this is the second time stamps have been issued specifically for the Museum, and wished for the swift realization of the new museum projects.
The presented collector’s set consists of a postcard, an envelope, and nine stamps featuring images of the monument. Ukrainian artists – Honored Artists of Ukraine Volodymyr Taran and Anton Logov, along with designers Liudmyla Nikorych and Daria Dashynevych – contributed to the development of the collection. Each of them created their own interpretation of the Motherland Monument, which has become one of the main symbols of resilience and resistance for Ukrainians during the full-scale russian invasion.
Following the special postmarking ceremony of the stamp block involving Ukrposhta, the Museum, and the authors of the works, a charity autograph session took place. All proceeds from the sale of the philatelic products will be transferred to the Museum’s charity account.
A pleasant surprise for the guests of the event was a special expression of gratitude from the Museum to the donors who joined the fundraising campaign. Yurii Savchuk presented each of them with the "Let’s Fill It Together" artistic set as a token of deep gratitude for supporting the first-ever fundraising campaign in the institution’s history. Fifty companies, organizations, and individuals who made a charitable contribution ranging from 10,000 UAH to 2 million UAH received a set along with a special personalized certificate.
A significant portion of the benefactors consists of manufacturers of the "weapons of Victory" – UAVs, robotic complexes (UGVs), communication tools, etc. Representatives of these companies were invited to further cooperation with the Museum on the direct implementation of the "Museum of Modern Military Technologies" exhibition.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributes to shaping the future of the War Museum. The fundraiser is ongoing! Join us!
