War Museum and 25th NGU Brigade Sign Cooperation Memorandum

Our partners / 24 February 2026

The Director General of the Museum, Yurii Savchuk, and Colonel Mykhailo Kryzhanivskyi signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between our institution and the 25th Public Security Protection Brigade named after Prince Askold of the National Guard of Ukraine.

The document formalizes bilateral cooperation in preserving and promoting the history of the contemporary russo-Ukrainian War, documenting the unit’s combat experience, and implementing joint educational and memorial initiatives.

The Brigade performs vital tasks in maintaining public order and securing key state facilities in the capital, while also actively participating in combat operations against russian invaders to defend Ukraine. For its distinguished service and professionalism, the Brigade was granted the honorary title “Prince Askold” by Presidential Decree, in honor of the legendary Prince of Kyiv.

The Brigade is led by Colonel Mykhailo Kryzhanivskyi—an officer who began his military service in 2003. He participated in the Anti-terrorist Operation Zone (ATO Zone) in the most intense sectors. Since 2022, he has continued the fight against the russian enemy, first as the commander of the 4th “Force of Freedom” Operational Assignment Battalion of the “Rubizh” Rapid Reaction Brigade, and in 2024, he assumed command of the 25th Brigade.

For the War Museum, this partnership opens new horizons for collective work aimed at preserving the history of Ukraine’s ongoing struggle. It is a step toward a deeper understanding of the military experience, strengthening educational initiatives, and creating a space where the memory of the present is shaped alongside those who are fighting for it. Let us build the future together!
